Two Egyptians, Jaber Sabbah and Mohammed Abdullah Rabaa, will soon stand trial for the attack. A third, Mohammed Ahmed Flayfil, has not been caught but will be tried in absentia. The information that the three attempted to enter Israel was provided to the state-run Al-Ahram newspaper by the state prosecution.



The paper explains how the terrorists practiced with explosives in the Sinai desert and describes their attempts to enter Israel seven months before the actual attack.



The terrorists used TNT and explosives purchased from Bedouins, washing machine timers, mobile phones, and modified gas cylinders to attack the Taba Hilton and two other resorts 31 miles away by remote control.



Iyad Saleh, the PA Arab mastermind of the attack, recruited Sabbah and Rabaa to prepare the explosives. Saleh and one of his aides, Suleiman Ahmed Saleh Flayfil, in the explosions.



Two others involved in the attacks were killed in February while trying to evade Egyptian security forces, according to the report.
