"It is your willingness to volunteer during this terrible time that enables the police to send forces to carry out the uprooting," states the letter, which asks them to remove their names from the volunteer rolls immediately.

The letter was sent by members of the Northern District of the Land of Israel Task Force, working to thwart Prime Minister Sharon's planned expulsion/withdrawal plan.

The letter states that the use of Israel Police forces to implement the uprooting and demolishing of Jewish communities is a "betrayal of the aims and goals of the police."

Earlier this month, several police volunteers informed the Southern Galilee District Volunteer Coordinator that they refuse to take part in police work during this period. One of them, Yedidya Sharoni of Sdei Ilan, told Arutz-7 that he could not see himself taking part in police work when the police are engaged in "ethnic cleansing and the brutal expulsion of innocent Jews from their homes – acts that we see as standing in start contrast to the objectives for which we volunteered."

The letter to the volunteers states, "Unfortunately, the police department has taken upon itself the cruel acts of expelling loyal Jews from their homes, violently removing people from their dwellings, uprooting children forcibly from their mothers, stealing people's property, and humiliating them. Are you willing to be a part of this? Is this what you volunteered for?"

"Remember," the letter continues, "it is your volunteerism that enables the police to send forces to the region of uprooting. Your volunteering turns you into a full partner in this terrible crime."

The Task Force, which did intensive preparatory work beforehand to gather the names of the police volunteers, says that its work against the disengagement "will become more intensive as the situation deteriorates."
