The terrorists, from the Arab village of Sawahra, northwest of Bethlehem, shot Israeli security guards Samer Afaan and Ilya Reager to death as they guarded a construction area in the Kidron Valley.
On November 27, 2004 IDF paratroopers apprehended Hamas terrorist Amin Shakirat in Sawahra. Shakirat was found hiding in a compartment beneath the kitchen of his home. The terrorist’s brother Jamil was also arrested for involvement in the murder.
