"If evacuation happens, I call on everyone to leave their houses," he said in an interview with Arutz-7 radio. "The army probably will declare the [effected communities] a closed military zone and will prevent tens of thousands of people from coming. But even if we stand on the roads from Kissufim [on the 1967 border) to Ashdod, we will shut down the country," he declared.

He said execution of the Prime Minister's plan to uproot 25 Jewish communities will result in the destruction of another 70-80 communities. Rabbi Levy called on opponents of the program to work within the law and stage massive demonstrations.

"This might prevent uprooting several communities and may even prevent uprooting all of them. This may cause the next government to say to itself that uprooting Jewish communities is so traumatic that it will be impossible to decide to do so without a national referendum."

The former head of the NRP added that though large demonstrations have not convinced Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to change his plans so far, "I suggest demonstrations of strength-without-force, in which hundreds of thousands of people take part. This will make the government think differently."
