Zohar Shurgi, 40, a resident of Moshav Yafit in the Jordan Valley, was shot to death in a terrorist attack on the Trans-Samaria Highway between Ariel and Tapuach Junction on Tuesday night. The overturned car of the victim was found by emergency responders about 1.25 kilometers (7/10) mile west of Tapuach Junction, east of Ariel.
Ambulances and other responders were dispatched to what they believed was a car accident but following their arrival on the scene, they quickly learned the victim lost control of his vehicle after being hit by terrorist gunfire.
In another attack, on the Jericho bypass road in the Jordan Valley area, an army jeep was targeted by terrorist gunfire near the Allenby Bridge on Tuesday night. There were no injuries. Soldiers stopped their jeep and returned fire. An Israeli Arab motorist ran into the parked jeep. The driver was lightly wounded and transported to a local hospital.
