For the second time in a year, firemen rushed to extinguish flames in the country's parliament building. Unlike the episode seven months ago when the Knesset session was disrupted until the fire was extinguished, MKs continued to debate matters of national urgency in the plenum while fire and rescue personnel rushed to the first floor to fight the blaze.

The fire was sparked by a machine short circuit. Smoke spread throughout the entire floor, and workers evacuated the area. No damage or injuries or caused.
