IDF ground forces shot and killed Mahmud Mahadi last night as he was placing a roadside bomb near Einav (east of Netanya). An accomplice was wounded in the incident, escaped and found safe haven in a nearby PLO-controlled area.



Mahadi was an officer at one of the District Coordinating Offices (DCO), which, according to the Oslo agreements, were created to fulfill the task of \"preventing friction and to enable the two sides to deal with possible incidents\" such as \"a terrorist action of any kind and from any source.\"
