Participating were Justice Minister Tzippy Livny, Attorney-General Menachem Mazuz, Defense Minister Sha'ul Mofaz, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Moshe Yaalon, Public Security Minister Gideon Ezra and Police Commissioner Moshe Karadi.

Both Mofaz and Mazuz rejected an idea proposed earlier in the day by new Labor Party minister Chaim Ramon that Yesha residents who oppose their expulsion should be tried in military courts. Mazuz said it was not practical, and Mofaz said that the army should be left out of the picture. Instead, Minister Mofaz said that a special judicial framework should be established to deal with disengagement opponents accused of inciting or striking soldiers. He said that the government must show "determination" in this regard.

Prime Minister Sharon said that in general, the government is not yet ready for the evacuation, and it must supply answers as to how it plans to act.

Lt.-Gen. Yaalon said that soldiers living in Yesha are being de-legitimized, and are in a "difficult situation."
