An Israeli woman in her fifties was lightly injured last night when Arabs opened fire on the southern Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo. She was hit in the face by shrapnel deflected off a wall and was transported to Ein Kerem Hadassah Hospital, where she was released this morning. At least 14 homes and 2 vehicles were damaged by the sporadic machinegun fire. The shooting began Saturday night, continued for several hours, and was renewed in the middle of the night. IDF troops fired back at the sources of the in neighboring Beit Jala. The nearby \"Minharot\" road, connecting the capital to the Etzion Bloc, was closed to civilian traffic. A Border Police jeep travelling on the road came under fire by Arab snipers.
