Two mortar shell explosions were heard in N'vei Dekalim, in Gush Katif, around noon today; no one was hurt and no damage was caused.
Four mortar shells fired by Arab terrorists after 7:15 this morning (Tuesday) landed close to a school bus from Nisanit, in northern Gaza, as it passed the Erez Industrial Zone. Two adults escorting the children in the bus were hit with shrapnel from the impact. They sustained light injuries and were transported to hospital by Magen David Adom emergency services. At least two children are being treated for shock.
IDF forces fired a tank shell at the terrorists responsible for the school bus attack, killing at least six members of the enemy cell. The terrorists were apparently Hamas members.
At approximately the same time as the Erez attack, two Kassam rockets slammed into the western Negev city of Sderot. Though the rockets reportedly landed in an "open area" in the city, residents said that it actually landed in a small park, in close proximity to houses in the area.
Several people were treated for shock by emergency medical teams in the aftermath of the shelling. There were no other injuries or damage.
While it is as yet unknown if they were coordinated among the terrorists, the attacks both took place at a time when many Israelis begin their morning commutes to school and work. Several Kassam rockets have been fired at Sderot over the past three days.
