The IDF spokesperson's office announced Wednesday that two explosive devices hidden inside a bag were uncovered at the checkpoint in the possession of two Arabs. The devices were made from lightning bombs connected to explosive material and metal shrapnel, and were meant to be used in a terror attack. The Arabs were arrested, and the explosive devices were detonated in a control manner by sappers.

Last week, a similar bag containing explosive materials was uncovered at the Hawara checkpoint. "These incidents once again show the efficiency and effectiveness of the checkpoints," the IDF spokesperson stated, "in preventing the passage of explosives and stopping terrorists from entering Israel."
