Close to 200 people demonstrated outside the President\'s Residence in Jerusalem this morning, asking that President Moshe Katzav pardon Margalit Har-Shefi. The Supreme Court recently rejected her appeal of her conviction on charges of knowing in advance about the plan to murder Yitzchak Rabin and doing nothing about it. Her supporters held signs reading, \"She Didn\'t Know!\" and \"Who is Truly Responsible for Rabin\'s Murder?\"

Supporters of Margalit are hoping to gather by next week many thousands of signatures in favor of pardoning her; the organizers say that if there were more time, they would be able to amass hundreds of thousands of signatures. Har-Shefi is scheduled to enter prison and begin her nine-month sentence 16 days from now. For information on the case (in Hebrew), a new website has been opened; English is expected to be added soon.
