The head of PFLP in Shechem, Matsab Mahmud Ahdel, was arrested Monday night. Ahdel was declared wanted on July 2003 after attempting to recruit a suicide bomber. He was also linked to the Nov. 1 bombing of Tel Aviv's Carmel Market. His main activity in the PFLP was to recruit terrorists and suicide bombers from the villages surrounding Shechem, and to coordinate anti-Israel activity in the A-Najah University in Shechem.
Ahmed Abu Diyab and Nimar Abu Al'uf, both senior Islamic Jihad terrorists, were also arrested in Tulkarm in a joint IDF and GSS operation. Abu Diyab, 23, was responsible for the planning and execution of terrorist attacks, and was planning future attacks, according to the IDF. He was involved in the recruitment of suicide bombers and their dispatching to the various Islamic Jihad cells under his command, purchasing weapons and materials to be used in attacks, and planning and carrying out shooting attacks on Jewish travelers. Abu Al'uf, 19, was Diyab's aid, assisting him in planning and carrying out attacks.
A total of 21 terror-related arrests were made throughout Judea and Samaria overnight in IDF and GSS operations.
Also overnight, two offices belonging to the "Islamic Charity Fund" were sealed up by the IDF and Civil Administration due to their funding of terrorist activity. The offices are located in Bani Naim, east of Hevron, and in Dora, west of Hevron.
The offices, which belong to the Hamas terrorist organization, provide financial assistance to arrested terrorists and to the families of suicide bombers.
