In addition to the five thwarted terrorist attacks, the IDF Spokesman's Office further reports that Arabs fired at soldiers on nine occasions this week, and detonated three bombs towards IDF forces. On Monday, an IDF officer was killed and another was lightly wounded when an arms-smuggling tunnel along the Israeli-Egyptian border collapsed upon them as they were planning to blow it up.

Two mortar shells were fired towards Jewish communities in Gaza Friday morning, one in N'vei Dekalim and one in Netzarim. No one was hurt.

Residents in beleaguered Gush Katif have filed a complaint against IDF officers who participated in the evacuation/demolition of a small outpost built in memory of two recent terror victims. The residents say the soldiers used excessive force and did not return property taken from the site.

The Knesset Public Complaints Committee held a session this past week on what to do with property taken from an outpost during its evacuation. Some speakers said that the army is sovereign in Judea, Samaria and Gaza and is therefore not subject to the usual rules of preserving property while enforcing the law. The general drift of the session, however, took the opposite approach. The committee called upon the army to make every effort to preserve said property in good condition and return it to its rightful owners. The army is planning to hire an outside body that will be responsible for packing such property, keeping it in good order, and returning it to its owners.
