Female terrorist prisoners rioted in the Sharon Prison today, and the Prison Service director announced afterwards that some of them would be transferred to other prisons. The disturbance began when Amana Muna - who enticed a 16-year-old Ashkelon youth to his murder via the internet almost four years ago - refused to stand for the daily count. The prisoners poured boiled oil and cleaning fluids on prison officials. Two officials were lightly injured and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Yesterday, IDF troops near Bethlehem, acting on intelligence information, surrounded the house of terrorist Amin Shakirat, who was behind the murder of two Israeli security guards last November. They found him hiding under the floor beneath a sink, armed with a knife.
The murdered security guards were gunned down in a midnight ambush in the Abu Dis neighborhood of Jerusalem. They were guarding heavy construction equipment being used to build the security fence.
Also yesterday, IDF troops discovered ten rifles and an explosive device on the Philadelphi route along the Israeli-Egyptian border. The explosives weighed about 100 pounds and were apparently intended for use against an Israeli tank. Soldiers found the bag of 10 smuggled rifles about 100 yards away.
