The governments of England and the United States were quick to issue statements of condemnation against Israel’s preemptive strike against a Hamas terrorist headquarters that left eight persons dead and several wounded.
Senior government officials explained the attack was not an arbitrary offensive but one based on intelligence information, targeting fugitives that were involved in terror attacks in the past, as well as planning future attacks. Jerusalem issued several statements of profound sorrow over the deaths of two Arab children in the attack. Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer added that repeated requests to arrest the fugitives fell on deaf ears in the PA, leaving Israel with no alternative but to strike out at them before they perpetrated another attack.
Helicopter gunships fired missiles into the seven-story Hamas headquarters located in PA-controlled Shechem. Senior terrorists were killed and wounded in the attack that Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer stated would save countless innocent lives.
During the nighttime hours, terrorists continued attacks that have already resulted in the wounding of five persons in the Shomron. Hamas and other terrorist factions in the PA vow to avenge the missile attack with “several suicide bombing attacks” inside Green Israel.
Following is a partial listing of attacks that occurred over the past hours:
1. Terrorists have been firing automatic weapons into the southern Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo. No injuries. There is property damage. The shooting has resulted in the Minharot road being closed for hours, bringing bus service to and from Gush Etzion areas to a standstill.
