So reports the English-language Saudi daily Arab News.
Some 190 foreign companies, including both Arab and Western firms, have been blacklisted by the Saudi government in the past 12 months for attempting to import Israeli-made products into the desert kingdom. These include at least three American and six German companies, as well as firms from Britain, Taiwan, Singapore and Poland.
The Saudi regime has also issued instructions to customs inspectors at the country’s airports, seaports and border crossings not to allow any products into the kingdom which do not bear a certificate of origin for fear that Israeli goods might slip in undetected.
In addition, the Saudi Ministry of Commerce has cautioned Saudi businessmen not to sign import deals with foreign firms prior to ascertaining the origin of the items in question.
The Ministry also reaffirmed that any foreign companies involved in importing Israeli-made goods into Saudi Arabia, either directly or through a third-country, would be immediately blacklisted.
Earlier this week, the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry announced that it had thwarted attempts by 12 Israeli companies to import their products into the country under the guise of foreign labels. The Council issued a circular to its branches throughout Saudi Arabia urging them to be vigilant in preventing Israeli-made goods from entering the country.
