The IDF troops of the Samson unit, stationed permanently in Gaza, launched their anti-terror offensive at midnight and continued it throughout the morning. In the course of the operation, soldiers spotted three separate terrorist cells and opened fire at them.

The first cell was laying explosive devices against Jewish targets in the area, while the other two were carrying assault rifles and a rocket-propelled grenade launcher.

Each of the cells returned fire. By the end of the mission, soldiers identified nine terrorists as being wounded and three killed. The IDF soldiers sustained no injuries.

In related news, Arabs activated an explosive device against an IDF force in southern Gaza and threw a hand grenade at IDF troops patrolling along the Israeli-Egyptian border near Rafiah today. No injuries or damage were reported in either incident.

Overnight, IDF and security forces apprehended ten wanted Arabs throughout Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. The suspects were transferred to the General Security Services (Shin Bet) for questioning.
