Imad Kawasme, the latest top terrorist to head the Hamas terrorist network in Hevron, was caught today in a successful IDF operation. Defense Minister Sha'ul Mofaz said that Kawasme has "the blood of dozens of Israeli on his hands." He headed a wide-ranging infrastructure that dealt with dozens of terrorists, many of whom participated in major and minor attacks against Israelis. Among the attacks Kawasme supervised were the double bus bombing several weeks ago in Be'er Sheva (16 killed), the Rosh HaShanah attack last year in Negohot (2 killed); the Otniel yeshiva attack (4 killed); and many more.

Today, however, Kawasme did not put up much of a fight, coming out with a white flag when he saw that IDF forces had surrounded his hideout. The IDF is pleased that he was caught alive, as he will be able to provide much information on Hamas activities, infrastructure and terror cells in Hevron and environs.
