A home in the Gaza-area town of Atzmona was damaged in a mortar shell attack this morning. A second shell landed near the community. A third mortar shell was fired at the southern Gush Katif community of Kfar Darom, but landed in an area under Palestinian Authority control. There were no injuries in any of the shellings.
Meanwhile, a woman who hurled a bag at the IDF's Tarmit Outpost in the Rafiach area of Gaza was shot and wounded by soldiers who suspected the bag contained a bomb.
An IDF soldier was lightly injured in an enemy missile attack Monday afternoon. He was driving an armored bulldozer in the Beit Hanoun area of northern Gaza when Arab attackers fired an anti-tank missile at the vehicle.
Also in the Gaza region, Arab terrorists opened fire at a civilian vehicle driving in Gush Katif. There were no injuries, but the car was hit several times. IDF forces responding to the scene succeeded in killing one of the attackers, but a second escaped.
In Hevron, two Israelis were lightly injured when Arab attackers threw rocks at them in the parking lot adjacent to the Cave of the Patriarchs. One of the injured Jews was taken to Hadassah-Ein Kerem Hospital, while the other refused further treatment. North of Hevron, Nachal Brigade soldiers shot and killed an armed terrorist this morning.
Security forces operating in the Bethlehem district arrested three terrorists in El-Eida. They recovered what appears to have been a partially prepared bomb that was lacking explosives, but contained metallic fragments, shrapnel and other bomb components. And Sunday night, it has been revealed, IDF troops in Tul Karem, east of Netanya, captured a terrorist who was in the midst of planning a suicide bombing of an Israeli target.
