The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) expressed its deep disappointment at U.S. President Bush's speech to the United Nations this week. Bush said that Israel "should impose a settlement freeze, dismantle unauthorized outposts, end the daily humiliation of the Palestinian people, and avoid any actions that prejudice final negotiations."
The ZOA was particularly irked at Bush's accusation regarding the "daily humiliation," noting that Israeli anti-terror security measures such as checking travelers for bombs at security checkpoints are parallel to the security checks carried out every day on millions of Americans in airports around the country. These checks are "a reasonable and ordinary part of our post-9/11 world," said ZOA National President Morton Klein. "Anything less would risk the lives of innocent people, whether in Israel or America."
The female terrorist who murdered two Israeli policemen in northern Jerusalem on Wednesday protested when asked to undergo a check, causing another policeman to approach her. Satisfied that she now had two policemen in her immediate vicinity, and other Israelis not far away, she calmly blew herself up, murdering the two.
