Two Kassam rockets fired from Palestinian Authority areas in northern Gaza landed in S'derot shortly before noon today, with one of the rockets impacting near a school. Magen David Adom emergency medical service officials reported that a total of eight victims were transported to Barzalai Hospital in Ashkelon, including a woman in her late 20s with shrapnel fragments in her hand and seven persons treated for anxiety. All were described in light condition.
Of the victims of yesterday's suicide bombing in northern Jerusalem, six remain hospitalized in light condition at three Jerusalem hospitals.
Among other recently wounded terror victims are Yosef Lokianofsky, who is still hospitalized three weeks after being hurt in the Be'er Sheva bus bombing. His wife was murdered in the attack, he cannot speak Hebrew, and he has still not recovered from wounds to the eye and face. Several others wounded in that attack have been released from the hospital over the past week or two, though they still need medical care. Several of them suffered severe burns to the face.
In addition, Yehuda ben (son of) Masouda, was just released from the hospital after having been wounded in a Gaza missile attack four months ago; he was operated on 13 times, and will require rehabilitation treatment for at least a year. David ben Simcha, wounded on August 11, has been transferred to Tel Hashomer Hospital, and David ben Mazel, wounded in the same attack, has been transferred to Beit Levenstein with months of rehab ahead of him. Ruth bat (daughter of) Raymund, who lost her son (and leg) in the June 28th missile attack in Sderot, has been transferred to Tel HaShomer. Aryeh ben Irena, wounded in an Erez Checkpoint attack five months ago, has been transferred to Beit Levenstein with months of rehab ahead of him.
Dror ben Yaffa, 23, has been paralyzed with a spinal cord injury since a February attack in Bethlehem. Yitzchak Tzvi ben Miriam Aida, 37, a father of four, sustained similar injuries in a bus attack in May 2003, and has moved only his fingers since then. Yaakov ben Victoria, a taxi driver from Be'er Sheva, was stabbed all over his body, including his head, in a terror attack six months ago. He is home, but will be in rehab for at least a year. Other long-suffering victims include Galit bat Ruti, Hadar ben Tova, Chaim Lazar ben Rachel, and Moshe ben Rachel.
