The cell is responsible for a number of deadly terror attacks that claimed 17 lives and left over one hundred wounded - some with permanent disabilities.

Two senior cell members are Omeid Ibrahim Amad and Maher Uda, both appearing on the GSS (General Security Service/Shin Bet) wanted list. The seven cell members include a Jordanian national living here illegally and an Israeli Arab.

Attacks ascribed to the cell include those targeting Tzrifin Junction (in which 9 soldiers were killed and 30 wounded), Cafe Hillel (in which seven people were killed and over 55 injured), and the bus stop attack on Mt. Tzion Boulevard in Tel Aviv (killing one female soldier and leaving 34 injured).

Authorities made the arrests in July 2004, but publication of details was not permitted until today. The cell members were tied to Hamas military command in PA-controlled Ramallah.

The cell members were also in the midst of planning additional attacks - including a suicide bombing attack in Jerusalem ahead of the anniversary of the Cafe Hillel attack - when they were taken into custody. The suicide bomber had second thought and abandoned his mission at the last moment. A suicide bombing attack was also planned in a restaurant located inside a gas station at Shilat Junction, but it was abandoned after they decided it was too close to the Arab population in the area. In 2003, they planned to place a bomb on a Bat Yam beach but that attack did not take place.

The group also planned on carrying out shooting attacks inside pre-1967 Green Line Israel, and were stocking weapons and training appropriately for the planned attack.

Interrogation of cell members in custody have led to the uncovering of thousands of M-16 and 9mm bullets, weapons, magazines, military grade explosives, and assorted stolen IDF weapons.
