Released for publication today: A terrorist cell from Egypt was apprehended three weeks ago on its way to an attack in Israel. Indictments were handed down today in the Be'er Sheva District Court against six Egyptian students who infiltrated into Israel for the purpose of carrying out at least one attack and abducting Israeli soldiers to Egypt.
The university student terrorists planned to use the soldiers' weapons to take control of a tank and even rob an Israeli bank for funds to continue their wave of terror. The soldiers were to be used as negotiating pawns towards the release of terrorists held in Israeli prisons. The Egyptians made a number of unsuccessful attempts to cross the border from Egypt into Israel during the past three years.
