As they have done for the last 20 years, the Coalition for Jewish Concerns-Amcha, the Yeshiva of the West Side, and the Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry will sponsor a large Tisha B\'Av prayer service outside the UN building in New York. The service, to be recited on behalf of Israel and other beleaguered world Jewish communities, will include the traditional afternoon Torah reading and will be led by Rabbis Moshe Morduchowitz and Avi Weiss. The prayers will begin at 2 PM on Sunday afternoon, a day of fasting and mourning in memory of the destruction of the two Holy Temples and other historic Jewish calamities. This afternoon, some 50 students demonstrated outside the UN headquarters in Jerusalem, calling upon the international body to take action towards obtaining the release of captive IDF soldiers.
