Denmark\'s Justice Minister announced that his country will be obligated to arrest former GSS head Carmi Gillon when he comes to present his credentials as Israel\'s next Ambassador there. He said that the Geneva Charter requires that anyone who tortured prisoners must be arrested. Foreign Minister Shimon Peres rejected the Danish position, announcing that he will not cancel Gillon\'s appointment as Ambassador. Peres blasted the reported Danish step as \"character assassination\" and \"foolishness,\" saying, \"I am very amazed ... If this is true, then they also cannot accept anyone who was a member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization.\"
