Officials in both the Prime Minister's Office and the Finance Ministry confirm that without budgetary allocation from the Knesset, the Evacuation Administration headed by Yonatan Bassi cannot function. Grassroots anti-disengagement activists note that the obvious step for those who do not want to see Israel disengage - i.e., retreat from Gaza and northern Shomron, and uproot the 8,500 Jewish residents there - is to contact the nine MKs of the committee who might consider voting against the allocation.
