Secular and religious charity organizations in Jerusalem will join forces and work together for their common goals. The joint team will comprise six committees that will deal with the training of volunteers, data collection, fundraising, marketing, follow-up and supervision, and municipal events.

Arutz-7's Yigal Shok reports that the establishment of three neighborhood volunteer centers will serve as a "pilot" event for the umbrella organization. "Jerusalem is the Volunteer Capital of the world," said Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupoliansky, "and all the organizations have one common objective: the residents' welfare. Placing all the resources and energies under one umbrella will enable us to reach maximum results." A major event will be Volunteer Work Week in May of next year.

Among the goals of the umbrella organization are to develop frameworks to expand volunteer activities, to increase the number of volunteers, and to raise the professionalism of the activities.
