The warfare in Gush Katif and elsewhere continues. A Kassam rocket fired at a Gush Katif townlet last night hit the living-room window of a private home - but did not explode. Heavy damage was caused, though no one was hurt. Several children and their father were home at the time. Yet another Kassam rocket landed in Israel last night, slamming into an open field between Kibbutz Kfar Aza and Kibbutz Saad; no one was hurt.

Likud MK Ehud Yatom said last night that the Kassam rocket attacks against Sderot and the Negev are a direct consequence of the disengagement plan. "This is a message from the terrorist organizations regarding what they plan for the future," he said, "as they lust for the homes and land of the residents in northern Shomron and Gaza. They are already fighting among themselves for a piece of the remains."

Dr. Alon Liel, who served under former Prime Minister Ehud Barak as Director-General of the Foreign Ministry, told Arutz-7 this week, "Even if we get out of Gaza, the international pressure upon us will, at best, weaken - but it certainly will not cease."

An Israeli public bus was heavily damaged last night when it encountered an explosive device along the road from Jerusalem to Hevron and Kiryat Arba. No one was hurt, though the use of a Lebanon-style roadside bomb has security officials concerned. "The Sharon government's decision to reward terrorism is leading to its natural continuation: continued terror," said a spokesman for Hevron.

Border Guard police officers escaped uninjured after a firebomb was hurled at their jeep in the El-Azzariya area near Maaleh Adumim last night... A senior Islamic Jihad terrorist was wounded last night in an attempted elimination rocket attack by the IDF upon him in Rafiah. He was responsible for the attack three months ago in which five soldiers were killed in their armed personnel carrier... Another leading terrorist was killed in Gaza in an unexplained explosion, apparently a "work accident."
