The IDF has developed a new non-lethal way of combating violent protesters: a stink bomb modeled after a skunk’s spray.
According to a Reuters report, the ‘skunk’ canisters are part of a new generation of non-lethal weapons designed by the IDF in order to replace the use of rubber bullets.
The Reuters report quotes unnamed Muslim sources saying the skunk bomb, which officials said could permeate clothing for five years, would be “particularly unpleasant for devout Muslims since they cannot pray with clothes that smell and would have to throw them away.”
A new tank shell that disintegrates in the air, causing a giant blast but no casualties, is also part of the IDF’s new non-lethal armory.
