A coalition crisis is brewing, but it may have been put on hold. The government has agreed to demands by Shas and United Torah Judaism not to bring for a vote tomorrow legislation freezing increased child allowance payments for large families. Finance Minister Silvan Shalom wants the law passed before the onset of the summer recess tomorrow night. Shas leader Eli Yeshai says that if the legislation is brought for a vote, Shas will no longer be committed to the coalition agreements.
