Several dozen soldiers and policemen raided the petting zoo near the Shomron community of Yitzhar today, razing it to the ground. Residents of Yitzhar said that the security personnel used great force. The area, known as the Shaked Farm, has been destroyed in the past, on charges that it was an unauthorized outpost - and residents have rebuilt it each time.

Another outpost under the threat of destruction, Ramat Gilad near Karnei Shomron, received an extra life this morning. The Supreme Court extended the restraining order preventing the uprooting of the outpost - also known as Givat HaDegel (Flag Hill) - until a final ruling is issued. The community was renamed Ramat Gilad in memory of terrorist victim and security coordinator Gilad Zar. Ramat Gilad should not be confused with the Gilad Farm, near Kedumim, which has also been dismantled several times and now has four families, with more people anxious to move in.
