Arab terrorists fired a Kassam rocket, which failed to explode, into the Negev town of Netiv Ha'asarah this morning. The rocket impacted close to a community kindergarten. Fortunately, there were no injuries.



Motorists were targeted in firebomb attacks at Marda Junction along the Trans-Samaria Highway. There were no reports of injuries or damage. In similar attacks, motorists traveling on Highway 443, the Jerusalem-Modi'in road, were attacked by Arabs hurling rocks between Maccabim and the Dor Energy gas station. There were no injuries, but damage was reported.



IDF forces demolished a number of buildings near the town of N'vei Dekalim overnight as part of a wider counter-terrorist operation in southern Gaza. Army sources noted that the buildings targeted for demolition were used in the past to fire anti-tank rockets and mortar shells at Israeli civilians and soldiers. During the operation, soldiers were attacked with anti-tank rockets and a bomb. Military sources also confirmed that a helicopter gunship fired at armed gunmen as they approached an IDF force below, killing at least one of them. Palestinian Authority sources reported that 15 of the armed men were injured.



In other military incidents over the past 24 hours, soldiers were uninjured in a bomb attack in the Askar area of Shechem... IDF troops operating in the Hevron area arrested four PA residents suspected of terrorist activities. During the operation, a number of automatic weapons and handguns were confiscated... It was also released for publication that three wanted Fatah terrorists were arrested in recent weeks. They, too, led investigators to weapons used in shooting attacks... Two terrorists near El-Khader in the Bethlehem district sustained unspecified injuries during the night when the bomb they were placing detonated...



62 Palestinian Authority residents found to be inside pre-1967 Green Line Israel illegally were arrested overnight by police. They were rounded up in the area of Ben-Gurion International Airport. Twelve are wanted by security forces and were placed under arrest. The others were sent back to PA autonomous areas.
