Tanzim terrorist Halad Sistari, 21, was enlisted by his brother Ahmed to carry out a suicide bombing attack near Shechem, 27 miles north of Jerusalem. Halad departed for the attack with the bomb belt on his body but decided to postpone the attack after seeing a large deployment of IDF troops. He was apprehended about two weeks ago.
In other security news, IDF soldiers operating near the Philadelphi Route on the border with Egypt this morning spotted an armed terrorist on the roof of a building overlooking the area. The soldiers opened fire, hitting the gunman. During operations in the area, forces were attacked with grenades and roadside explosive devices. There were no injuries, although damage was reported.
A mortar fired by Arab terrorists this morning slammed into a newly established hothouse area of Morag, in Gush Katif. A fire broke out at the scene. There are no injuries reported.
