An IDF lieutenant was seriously wounded during an overnight operation in the Tul Karem area, east of Netanya. The operation, which concluded only at 1:40 PM today, is a common one in the IDF, in which soldiers arrive in a village with a list of wanted terrorists and encircle houses in which they are known to be hiding. Gunfire often ensues, as occurred in this case in which the officer was wounded. Earlier in the same mission, a sought-after terrorist wearing an explosives belt blew up. He is believed to have planned to detonate himself amidst the soldiers, but was apparently cut down by IDF fire before he could reach his target. The 15 terrorists and suspects captured last night come on the heels of eight last night and seven the night before.

An IDF soldier on a routine patrol on the Jordanian border was lightly wounded last night in a gunfire attack. The shooting was first assumed to have come from terrorists who arrived from Jordan, but is now estimated to have come from within Jordan itself. A northern section of the Jordan Valley highway was closed for about an hour this morning, following the attack. Around noon, it was reported that the Jordanian Army had located and opened fire on the terrorist cell, killing three and arresting a fourth.

Two Israelis were wounded in yet another Palestinian terrorist shooting attack as they drove by the Tapuach Junction last night, in central Shomron. They were transported to a hospital in Petach Tikvah.
