The supreme test of faith of Fathers Avraham and Yitzchak took place on Mount Moriah. The sanctity, however, of this Gate of Heaven remained hidden, as the very name given by Avraham after the trial of faith indicates: "The place where G-d will reveal himself: (Genesis. 22:14).

The Divine commandment leading to the "Akedah" the sacrifice of Yitzchak, mentions only the "Land of Moriah". The specific site will be revealed. The topography, however, of the "Land of Moriah" was made clear in the very same context. We read; On the third day of Avraham’s journey from Be’er Sheva "he saw the place from afar". This vision describes a very clear location.
