The disengagement/expulsion plan has claimed another victim: Housing Ministry Director-General Avi Maoz, who assumed the position back in 2001 under then-Minister Natan Sharansky, has announced his resignation.
Prime Minister Sharon appointed a new Housing Minister this week - Tzippy Livny of the Likud. Livny announced almost immediately that her ministry would take an active role in the disengagement plan, especially regarding the relocation of the expelled residents. Maoz, who boycotted recent meetings on the topic, said that he would not be able to be a party to such intentions, and asked to be relieved of his responsibilities.
