Two Kassam rockets were fired at Sderot this morning, landing in open fields and causing no casualties. The rockets were fired from west of the new IDF security zone around the PA-controlled city of Beit Hanoun, from where many Kassams were fired towards Sderot and the western Negev. Two people, including three-year-old Afik Zehavi, were killed in a Kassam attack last week.



A spokesman for the Hamas terror organization denied reports today to the effect that Hamas is negotiating with the Palestinian Authority to halt its rocket attacks on Israeli cities. The reports stated that the rockets would be silenced in exchange for an IDF withdrawal from Beit Hanoun. The spokesman denied that such a negotiating team was even established by the PA.
