Moshe Yochai, 63, of Ashdod, who was murdered yesterday by terrorists in an Arab village near N'vei Tzuf, north of Ramallah, was held on Wednesday evening in his hometown.
He was found shot to death in his truck yesterday morning, with a lone bullet wound in his chest. Yochai had been known to sell sand for construction purposes to local Arabs. In response to his children's pleas that he give up his dangerous activities, he would say that he dealt only with "good Arabs." Terrorists lay in wait for his arrival yesterday morning, and shot him to death. Yochai is survived by four children and five grandchildren. Security officials emphasized once again that Israeli citizens are not permitted to enter Area B - i.e., areas under PA administrative control.
It was reported yesterday that a Palestinian terrorist plot to kidnap an Israeli citizen, negotiate for his release, and then murder him was thwarted last week. One of the four cell members detained by the Shabak (GSS) is Ala Tzalah, long wanted for his murder of Yossi Zandani in his home in Bnei Ayish in March of 1994.
Arab terrorists fired a total of four Kassam rockets today at Sderot. No injuries or damage was caused.
During the course of the night, Palestinian terrorists infiltrated the hothouses of Morag, in Gush Katif, depositing explosives and hand-grenades for later use. The weapons and explosives were discovered this morning, and IDF sappers neutralized them.
A terrorist infiltration was stopped this afternoon at Gaza's Karni Crossing. Some damage was caused to vehicles in the area.
