Army forces were sent to destroy the Hazon David synagogue outpost, between Kiryat Arba and Hevron, again last night - and worshippers returned to the site and prayed there this morning. "It was totally destroyed," said gabbai [sexton] Yaakov Eichenstein to Arutz-7 this morning, "but we prayed there this morning amidst the ruins, and we will rebuild it, with G-d's help." He said that the army did not present a warrant or contact anyone connected with the site in order to coordinate an orderly evacuation, "but just came and brutally destroyed it, confiscating books and holy items, and destroying other equipment worth hundreds of shekels. It was a shocking site to come this morning and see it."

The synagogue was built three years ago in memory of David Cohen and Yechezkel Mualem, who were murdered three years ago very close to the site. "Since we built the synagogue here," Eichenstein said, "there have been no attacks here; the area was quiet, because they [the terrorists] knew that there was a Jewish presence. Suddenly, half a year ago, the Prime Minister decided, with instructions from Bush, that this was an illegal outpost; they destroyed it, and we rebuilt it, and this cycle repeated itself several times. We feel humiliated... but we will continue to build here and pray here."
