Almost 140 young cancer patients are taking part in a special trip of fun organized by the Zikhron Menachem organization in Holland this week. No less than 60 medical and other staff, many of them volunteers, are accompanying the children on what the organizers say is a very complicated trip, technically, medically, and otherwise. Kobi Sela, who is accompanying the trip on behalf of Arutz-7, reports that the Jewish community and the Red Cross in Holland are helping sponsor the children\'s trips to amusement parks and other attractions.
\"Jewish community guards are surreptitiously accompanying us,\" Sela said today, \"in light of increasing anti-Semitism in Europe, although here in Holland the situation appears to be OK. We were not warned not to wear yarmulkes or the like, and in fact our group stands out clearly because of the green shirts we are all wearing with the distinctive Zikhron Menachem Jewish star emblem. People sometimes stop us in the street and say, Shalom, Kol HaKavod, and sometimes expressing sorrow over what we are going through...\"
Moishie, one of the staff, explained the complexity of the trip: \"First of all, we have never had so many children on a trip like this. In addition, the medical condition of the children is significantly worse than in other years...\" Sela asked one of the participants, teen-aged Rachel, if she\'s having a good time. Her response: \"Chaval al hazman (lit., it would be a waste of time to even try to explain) what a great time we\'re having. We\'re singing, cheering, going to all the attractions - just fantastic...\" Arutz-7 will broadcast a two-hour show tomorrow from Holland, during which parents of the young children will be able to speak with them live over the radio.
