A powerful rocket was fired at the Negev town of Sderot this morning, damaging a building and sending one woman to be treated for shock. The police estimate that the missile was a Nasser-3 model, stronger than the "traditional" Kassams long fired by Palestinian terrorists at Israeli residential targets. The Nasser-3 rockets carry additional explosives and have a longer range.

Police sources said that the terrorists are continually improving their rockets, and that they will soon be able to hit other southern Israeli cities, "such as Ashkelon, for instance." Palestinian-fired rockets have already reached the outskirts of Ashkelon, one of Israel's largest cities, located several kilometers north of the Gaza Strip.

In other terrorist news since last night, shots were fired at a bus entering Netzarim in central Gaza, and IDF forces were targeted in Kfar Darom and in Jenin; no one was hurt in these attacks.
