Gunfire was also reported both north and south of Hevron.

We will in fact convene later today and decide. But we must know that Peres is attempting to lead us into a state of negotiating under fire and pull us into a diplomatic process under these conditions. At the moment, there is nothing more than just a Peres-Arafat axis, not real government negotiations. But our goal at present is to ensure that the government does not fall into the trap of negotiating under fire…\"
