Two terrorists accidentally killed themselves very early this morning in southern Jerusalem while preparing a bomb, which they apparently wished to place in or near Teddy Stadium. The Maccabiah Games officially open tonight in a gala ceremony at the stadium. The two Arabs, 19 and 21-year-old residents of Bethlehem, were found dead near the southern Jerusalem neighborhood of Biet Tzafafa. Fatah and the Popular Front took joint responsibility for the attempted attack. This is the first time Fatah has taken admitted carrying out an attack within the Green Line. The Maccabiah Games, the largest Jewish sporting event in the world, will host some 3,000 athletes, two-thirds of whom are from the Diaspora. Police and the GSS remain on a heightened state of alert, and intelligence reports continue to stream in regarding terrorist efforts to perpetrate an attack at this time.
