MK Rehavam Ze\'evi, the head of the Knesset lobby for Jonathan Pollard, spoke in the Knesset today about what he calls \"the botched efforts to secure Jonathan Pollard\'s release.\" Ze\'evi said that the government abandoned Pollard in concentrating its efforts on obtaining a pardon for Marc Rich instead. Arutz-7\'s Yosef Zalmanson asked Ze\'evi\'s spokesperson today if he had raised the matter in the framework of the current coalition negotiations with the Likud. She answered that it did not arise \"specifically\" during the talks, but that it came under a general topic of \"missing and captive soldiers.\" The spokesperson said, \"This is not specifically a right-wing issue - the entire country should see this as a critical matter. Should we threaten not to join the coalition if Pollard\'s release is not demanded? If so, we would be pigeonholing the issue only onto the right-wing. This is something that must be a nationwide concern.\"
