The youngest son of the Gerrer Rebbe in Jerusalem was married yesterday in Jerusalem, with an estimated 50,000 Hassidim and admirers from Israel and abroad in attendance. The wedding dinner itself was open "only" to 7,000 invited guests. The groom, David Alter, married Tziporah Bein, a granddaughter of the founder of Gerrer Hassidut in Israel. The wedding took place on the roof of the Beit Yaakov Seminary in Jerusalem, under heavy security and amidst great traffic jams. The singing and dancing lasted all night, until after the morning prayers.
