Tens of thousands of people visited the Western Wall for yesterday's Shavuot holiday. Many of them studied Torah there all night and then remained for the early-morning prayers... In keeping with the general large increase in tourism to Israel, Jerusalem hoteliers reported a 70% occupancy rate for Shavuot - a large increase over the number of holiday visitors last year... The proud bakers of a large cheesecake on display in a Haifa shopping center believe it may be the largest in the world, measuring three meters (ten feet) in length and one meter (40 inches) tall. The cake was baked to coincide with Shavuot, a holiday on which it is customary to eat dairy foods...
