The IDF attacked several targets in Gaza over the weekend, destroying a weapons manufacturing lab, an Islamic Jihad "researchers center," and more.
The IDF announced that the "research center" in Gaza City is one of Islamic Jihad's key operations centers in the Gaza Strip. It exists under the facade of being an academic body, but in actuality is used by the Islamic Jihad as a conduit for sending messages and information relating to terrorist operations and for coordination with other bodies in and outside of Gaza. The building also contained an explosives manufacturing lab.
Another target was the El-Anzar institution, used for disseminating Hizbullah and Iranian propaganda in Palestinian areas. Charged with "exporting the revolution" to the Arab population in the PA areas, the committee is considered a strategic asset in its influence on "the Palestinian street," and in the framework of politically and culturally undermining the "stability" of the Palestinian Authority. The committee is also used as cover for identifying, recruiting and directing terrorist bodies in Gaza.
