Two events were held this week for young men and women studying on one-year yeshiva programs in Israel, encouraging them to strongly consider Aliyah - immigration to Israel - in their life plans. Both were organized by the Aloh Naaleh organization, in cooperation with the Orthodox Union, A.A.C.I. and Yavneh Olami.

The women's event was held on Monday evening at Michalah - Jerusalem College for Women. Rebbitzen Dr. Chana Sosevsky of Touro College and recent new-immigrant Aliza Sussman addressed the some 125 participants, and a film produced by the Nefesh B'Nefesh aliyah organization was shown. The themes of the evening: careers in Israel, dating, keeping Aliyah hopes strong while abroad, and planning ahead with Aliyah in mind.

The men's event was held last night for close to 400 students, from ten yeshivot, at Machon Lev - the Jerusalem College of Technology. Billed as an "Aliyah Forum and Fair," the evening featured a Torah lecture by historian Rabbi Berel Wein. The Nefesh B'Nefesh film was played, to further encourage the students' Aliyah inclinations.

Aloh Naaleh <"alohnaaleh@israelcenter.co.il"> director Rabbi Yerachmiel Roness said afterwards, "Twenty graduates of the various yeshivot - engineers, doctors, lawyers - who are now living in Israel, manned booths at the fair. This shows the great reservoir of potential olim (immigrants) among those who come to study for a year, and also provides the young students with the confidence that they, too, can be integrated into the professional markets in Israel."
