On Israel's domestic front in the war on terrorism, within Israeli borders, Arab terrorists lightly injured an infant in the face in a rock-throwing attack at Jat Junction, near Kedumim in the Shomron. The victim's car continued to the community of Shavei Shomron, where she received medical treatment.



A Jewish motorist was lightly injured after he was stabbed in the back by Arabs who pretended to offer assistance with his disabled vehicle. The attackers fled and the victim was transported to Laniado Hospital in Netanya.



Yesterday afternoon, Arab terrorists fired at a convoy of vehicles traveling near the Gaza community of Netzarim. No injuries were reported.



In an IDF operation east of Tul Karem, near the coastal city of Netanya, two Islamic Jihad terrorists were killed and a third apprehended in Nur el-Shams. The three were planning an attack on IDF troops operating in the area. One IDF soldier was lightly injured by shrapnel during the operation. In the Ramallah and Hevron areas, as well, IDF troops overnight arrested four Palestinian Authority residents suspected of terrorist activities.



In the village of Salim, near Shechem, security forces discovered a car containing three bombs, totaling 100 kilos of explosives. The car bomb was detonated in a controlled blast, without injuries, thus averting a major attack in the heavily populated Sharon region. In addition, soldiers operating in the Casba area of Shechem were attacked by enemy gunfire. There were no injuries to the force, and at least one terrorist was injured by IDF return fire.



Along the Egyptian border in southern Gaza, an IDF position came under Arab gunfire. No injuries were reported and soldiers returned fire.
